Little Millet Rajma Pulav

This recipe is a great way to incorporate millets into your diet and enjoy a hearty vegetarian meal.

- ½ cup Rajma (soaked overnight)
- 1 cup Sama (Little Millet, rinsed)
- ½ cup chopped onion
- ½ cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp Rajma masala / Garam masala
- 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 4 cloves
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 2 black cardamom pods
- Chopped coriander and mint leaves
- Salt to taste

Instructions
- Soak the rajma in water overnight or for at least 8 hours.
- Rinse the little millet thoroughly.
- In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add the cloves, cinnamon sticks, and black cardamom pods.
- Sauté the chopped onions until translucent.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and turn mushy.
- Add the Kashmiri chili powder, coriander powder, roasted cumin powder, and rajma masala. Stir well.
- Drain the soaked rajma and rinse again. Add half of the cooked rajma to the pressure cooker.
- Add the rinsed little millet and salt to taste.
- Layer the remaining rajma and sprinkle with chopped coriander and mint leaves.
- Add enough water (around 2 cups) to cover the ingredients.
- Close the pressure cooker lid securely and cook for 3-4 whistles or until the millet and rajma are tender.
- Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes before opening the lid.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with raita or chutney of your choice.
